Michael Neal, Chairman, CEO, and Founder

Mr. Neal has applied innovative science to solving merchandising and supply chain challenges throughout his 20-year career. He is the founder, CEO, and Chairman of SignalDemand, which he started in 2004 with Dr. Hau Lee of Stanford University. His extensive industry experience includes co-founding DemandTec (Nasdaq: DMAN), the largest provider of Consumer Demand Management (CDM) software for retail price and promotion optimization. Prior to DemandTec, he held executive positions at Evant (sold to Manhattan Associates), a supply chain optimization software company; and consulting positions at Deloitte Consulting and Accenture. Mr. Neal's expertise includes the development and application of analytical software tools for manufacturers and retailers, with a focus on empirical approaches to decision-making. He holds several patents in related fields. Mr. Neal holds an M.B.A. from the J.B. Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.A. in Economics and Statistics from the University of Florida.

Jeff Amann, Senior Vice President and General Manager

Jeff Amann is Senior Vice President and General Manager of SignalDemand. As a member of company’s executive management team, Mr. Amann oversees all financial and administrative functions. Prior to SignalDemand, he served as the Chief Administrative Officer and Interim Chief Financial Officer of a privately held biometric payments company in San Francisco, where he oversaw the finance, business development, human resources and legal departments. Previously, Mr. Amann was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Siebel Systems (now part of Oracle Corporation), where he spent 10 years helping the company expand its operations from its initial public offering through its establishment as a global market leader with more than $1.4 billion in annual revenue. Before joining Siebel, Mr. Amann was a corporate attorney at the law firm of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester.

Jimmy Fitzgerald, Senior Vice President, Services

Jimmy Fitzgerald is Senior Vice President of Services at SignalDemand. As a member of the company’s executive management team, Mr. Fitzgerald is responsible for driving services and support across every aspect of the SignalDemand customer experience. Prior to SignalDemand, Mr. Fitzgerald was responsible for all customer management functions across Oracle Customer Services on a global basis. His background also includes global services leadership roles at Siebel in addition to leadership positions in both the EMEA and Asia Pacific divisions. Prior to joining Siebel, Mr. Fitzgerald has held services management positions at Shell, IBM Consulting, and Andersen Consulting. Mr. Fitzgerald received a business degree from University College Cork and an MBA from Helsinki School of Economics.

Kate FitzGerald, Senior Vice President, Sales

Ms. FitzGerald is responsible for SignalDemand's worldwide sales activities, to which she brings over 20 years of experience selling software that delivers high-value ROI to end users. Ms. FitzGerald comes from Siebel Systems, where she spent 10 years in a variety of sales and sales management roles, including Vice President of Sales for the Americas Telecommunications group and Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Siebel OnDemand. Prior to Siebel Systems, she held sales, sales management and business development positions at several technology companies, including successful pre-IPO startups Informix Software and Aurum Software. Ms. FitzGerald has a BA in History from Stanford University.

Robert Pierce, Ph.D., Chief Scientist

Dr. Pierce combines academic and practical business experience to guide the process of developing the science behind SignalDemand's software solutions. His responsibilities extend to managing the creation, implementation, and protection of the company's key scientific Intellectual Property. In consultation with SignalDemand's deep bench of academic advisers and staff scientists, he combines mathematical expertise with software development best practices to create SignalDemand's revolutionary modeling and optimization engines. Prior to SignalDemand, Dr. Pierce held senior level research and development roles at Khimetrics and ConceptLabs, as well as academic posts with the National Academy of Sciences as an NRC Fellow, Penn State University, and U.C. Berkeley. His professional contributions have spanned a wide variety of fields including Econometrics, Oceanography, Hydrodynamics, Partial Differential Equations, and Nonlinear Dynamics. He is the author of numerous peer reviewed papers and has a number of patents pending. Dr. Pierce holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of California at Berkeley.

John Phipps, Vice President, Services

Mr. Phipps has been an Independent Management Consultant to Processors, Manufacturers and Retailers in the Consumer Goods sector. He was a Partner at Deloitte Consulting from 1986 to 2004 in San Francisco and Sydney, where he led the Australian Consumer Goods practice. Previously he was with Management Consulting firms Case and Company and Edgar, Dunn and Company. He started his career as an Aerospace Engineer at British Aerospace. Mr. Phipps has conducted a wide range of marketing, supply chain and technology work for leading consumer goods clients around the world. He has played key roles in major industry initiatives including Efficient Consumer Response (ECR). Mr. Phipps has an M.S. Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Houston and a B.Sc. Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK. He also has a Certification in Production and Inventory Control (CPIM) from the American Production and Inventory Control Society.

Rip Gerber, SVP & Chief Marketing Officer

Rip Gerber oversees the company’s global marketing, product and alliance efforts.  He is known for creating trends, driving markets and beating competitors with simple, differentiated messages.  Prior to joining SignalDemand, Mr. Gerber served as Chief Marketing Officer for Nokia/Intellisync (NASDAQ: SYNC) where he is credited with creating a global wireless enterprise brand and culture that transformed the company and led to a $530 million acquisition.  Mr. Gerber has worked in executive roles at Digitas (NASDAQ: DTAS) and Carlson Companies, a private $18B marketing firm.  He led the IPO of Commtouch (NASDAQ: CTCH) as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Marketing Officer.  Prior to that, he was a strategy consultant at Deloitte and founder of @once (acquired by InfoUSA).  Early in his career he ran card marketing programs for American Express and built a polyester factory for Firestone Tire & Rubber.  Mr. Gerber is also an international best-selling author and former employee of the Central Intelligence Agency.  He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
